When we began our journey online in 2009/10 it was as affiliate marketers and that was all very new to us (in fact we didn’t even realise that was what we were).

Looking back over the past 6 years as we write this post we can tell you that it was absolutely the best decision we ever made because it has provided us with not just a digital marketing education but also a way for us to replace our traditional business income and to help more people to become online or digital entrepreneurs through affiliate marketing.

There is no doubt that more and more people are now starting to not just accept that the world is changing but also that to protect and secure their future they must re-skill and re-think what they will do by choice if they are fortunate enough to or by necessity if they are forced to do.  Stuart talked about this in his previous video

The first step is not a case of I want an online business so I can change my life.  The first step is “how am I going to be of value in the digital economy“.   This is where most people go wrong.  For us whilst we knew we had to find an alternative way to generate our income we also had to think long and hard about what value would we bring to the marketplace… so we looked at our existing skills.  We knew how to run a business so we could help others to start a business.  We saw that business owners needed online marketing skills and education so if we could learn these ourselves we could then teach and train and if we found a business and marketing education product then we could refer that to others using the affiliate marketing model.  That’s exactly what we did and we have never looked back.

The message is then aside from earning commissions from affiliate promotions you do today well into the future (passive income), learning online marketing is THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO according to Stuart.  We would 100% agree.  We have clients we have introduced to online marketing education who now teach this to business clients and make a good income from it. Others like us have created full time and part time businesses as online affiliate marketers. It’s all about the choices having those skills give you.
