When you are running an online business then you need all the help you can get to remain as productive as you can be.  Our friends Greg and Fiona Scott recently shared this great little tool with us and we think you are going to love it too …… It’s called “If This Then That”

It connects many of the different social media websites allowing you to automate a large number of the tasks you usually perform.  Think about being able to update your facebook, twitter, wordpress all in one go and even email or SMS Text from just one action ….. the possibilities are endless and you can check out the ideas of others in “Recipes” and just do the same.

How does it work?

Think of it like this –  you do something on a website that TRIGGERS an ACTION to be performed on another website.

Here’s an example of how this would work using a video.  You are uploading a video to YouTube and you want to save a copy of that video.  Once you have set up your IFTT account the uploading of the video to YouTube triggers the action of saving that video to Dropbox.

As we upload a lot of videos to YouTube this is a great time saving action for us.

We just worked out that with a selection of only the more popular websites in ifttt.com like WordPress, Gmail, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter there are over 450 possible ways of automating stuff for you!  And that’s just the tip of the Iceberg…….
