In 2016 something monumental started to happen, globally. The Baby Boomers (that’s us!) started to retire in unprecedented record numbers. It has been argued that every day for the next 20 years, it will be a Guinness World Book of Records for people retiring and according to that same famous book, Habib Miyan from India held the record for the longest time a state pension was collected (he began collection his pension in 1938 after retiring from the Jaipur State Army). How times have changed!

And when we first began researching back in 2009 the magic number came out at £250,000 and in fact one dominating financial advisors actually wouldn’t even entertain you as a client unless you had that magic number saved for your retirement! As the years passed on the figure rose to one million and who knows where it will stand in 10 years time!

We firmly believe that entrepreneurship (in particular online entrepreneurship) in retirement is one of the best ways to control our financial independence, wealth and financial freedom and according to the Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurship (Startup Activity 2017) over 25% of new businesses are started by people in the 55-6 age range. Robert Laura, author of The Naked Retirement, said in an article in Forbes Magazine “I believe the concept of starting a business for retirement income will become of of the most significant trends impacting retirement in the 21st century”
