More millionaires credit their success towards this book than any other, and it’s sold more than 30 million copies worldwide in multiple languages.

The story of Think and Grow Rich goes something like this …

Napoleon Hill was hired by Andrew Carnegie, a famous billionaire steel magnate, to study himself and his wealthy colleagues and to try to distill the formula for success.

Over the course of several decades Hill did his research, and ‘Think and Grow Rich’ was the result.

In the book  Carnegie attributed a large part of his financial success to the power of masterminds …

In this post we’ll be looking at the modern day mastermind concept and how you can apply that in your business

Let’s look first of all at Andrew Carnegie’s thoughts on the power of masterminds

“Well, if you want to know how I got my money, I will refer you to these men here on my staff; they got it for me. We have here in this business a mastermind. It is not my mind, and it is not the mind of any other man on my staff, but the sum total of all these minds that I have gathered around me that constitute a mastermind in the steel business.

I have been many years gathering these men around me and building this mind. Each man contributes an important part to the building of this mind. I do not always agree with all the men on my staff, on all matters, nor do they always agree with me.

Perhaps some of us do not like each other from a personal viewpoint, but I know that I need these men and they know that they need me in the maintenance of this master mind that is necessary in carrying on this steel business.

Hill concluded that, “No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind.”

It’s a wonderful concept. The idea that you can elevate your own performance (in business and in life) by getting around the right people and it’s a concept we fully endorse

And we know this to be true from our own experience as entrepreneurs

By far, one of the biggest transformations in our business came when we got invited to be a part of masterminds with other very successful entrepreneurs in many different areas of business.

As soon as we started associating with those entrepreneurs who had achieved the success we were looking for our mindset changed and our business changed …

And it wasn’t until recently that we were able to find the kind of mastermind that we were looking for and which we knew would be perfect for entrepreneurs we knew who were just like us and looking for what we can only call the modern day mastermind concept.

In 2015 we were invited to participate and speak at a mastermind in Curacao in the Caribbean alongside some of the most respected speakers and multi millionaire entrepreneurs in the world – people like Kevin Harrington of Shark Tank.

One of the most important questions you’ll ever answer in your entrepreneurial journey is going to be ‘who do you associate with?’

That’s because we’re all influenced by the people we surround ourselves with.

If your goal is to build a big business, our advice is to get around other people looking to do the same thing, or who already have achieved that goal.

If you don’t know people like that, then buy your way into a mastermind like we did … it won’t be cheap but it will be priceless for your business and we can definitely attest to that one having spent countless thousands of dollars on our business education.

Just know that what you invest will be very small compared to what it can make you in the long run…
